Lauren D. Pharr
Lauren D. Pharr is a current PhD student pursuing her degree in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology at North Carolina State University. Her current research involves studying partial brood reduction in the federally endangered red-cockaded woodpecker. Lauren is also a science communicator, having written and contributed to pieces for The Cincinnati Zoo, BBC Wildlife, Wired Magazine, and eBird. She is currently an intern with North Carolina Sea Grant serving as an associate editor for their award-winning magazine Coastwatch. Lauren will also begin her new role as an Editorial Advisory Board Member for The Wildlife Society’s magazine, The Wildlife Professional. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys reading, nature adventures, and listening to music. She currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina.
