illustrating stories about the Conservancy and/or the Conservancy activity, project, landscape and
partnership you’ve documented. We will refer all other external requests for photographs to you
or your assigned agent directly.
• The Conservancy shall retain digital copies of selected images from the assignment that will be archived in the Conservancy photo library and accessible to Conservancy staff via the
Conservancy internal online photo archive. If film is used, all original film will be returned to
you once the selection and editing process is completed.
• The Contractor will retain the copyright to all photographs created while on assignment for the
Nature Conservancy. The Contractor has the right to use, sell or publish those photographs (after
an agreed waiting period and with the except of photographs showing identifiable Conservancy
staff which will require permission for use from the Conservancy and individuals shown), in all
manners and media with the understanding that the Contractor is responsible for any use made of
the photographs produced while on assignment with The Nature Conservancy and authorized by
the Contractor.
