March 4, 2014

(ALL INTERNAL RIGHTS, LIMITED EXTERNAL RIGHTS) Doug Garletts, a fisheries biologist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, inspects a fish trap below Lookout Point Dam located on the Middle Fork of the Willamette River at Lowell, Oregon . Biologists use the trap to count juvenile salmon migrating past the dam. The Nature Conservancy is working with the Army Corps of Engineers and other partners to adjust the operations of dams on the WIllamette River. These actions will improve water quality and habitat for fish and wildlife and meet the ongoing needs of local communities. PHOTO CREDIT: ©Bridget Besaw
