(LIMITED INTERNAL RIGHTS: NO COMMERCIAL USE) A pair of juvenile whale sharks (Rhincodon typus) measuring nearly 20 feet in length feed in the productive waters of the sand bar known as “El Mogote” in the waters off La Paz in Mexico’s Baja California Sur. The Nature Conservancy is working to protect wildlife and fisheries habitat and strengthen a network of marine protected areas in the Gulf of California. © Carlos Aguilera Calderón
