We clearly love getting up close and personal with nature at The Nature Conservancy, but there’s something about an incredible macro photograph that reconnects us with our mission and passion for protecting the natural world. This crisp close-up of a sunflower by Flickr photographer AndyKnight2009 has us in awe.

This week’s pick for Nature Photo of the Week goes to Flickr photographer chicagotarra for this bright and cheerful shot of tulips in Philadelphia. Between the sunlight and yellow petals, these flowers remind me of light bulbs — they appear to be lit from within. Such a beautiful sight!
