Heard any good news lately? In addition to the latest on the Gulf oil spill, which is still very bad news, we’re bringing you some positive stories on a growing green economy (weeee!) and new developments in recycling (yay!):

  1. A bummer for non-coastal U. S. songbirds: the side effects of the oil spill might mess up their migrations. (Mongabay)
  2. A new study claims that the U.S. could completely get rid of coal emissions in 20 years, using only current technologies and/or stuff that will be ready to go within a decade. (EcoGeek)

  4. A new report shows that the green economy is growing, but slowly. (Green)
  5. Pepsi rolls out a sort-of reverse vending machine that recycles cans and bottles and gives out prizes. (GreenBiz)
