It’s International Migratory Bird Day (IMBD) this Saturday! I’m not sure if the birds know (or even care), but you should.

Early May is pretty close to peak spring migration season everywhere in North America (earlier in the south, later in the north), so why not get out and consider observing this incredible natural phenomenon? Or better yet, doing something to help out migratory birds? An extensive list of bird-related happenings is available at the official IMBD web site.

The list of ways to celebrate IMBD is endless. What’s important is to do something to acknowledge migratory birds in that most wonderful of bird seasons: spring migration.  I guarantee that whatever you do, you’ll love it and the birds will benefit.

I understand you’re coming to Silver City NM. Hope you’ll address the impacts of too much artificial night light on migration and breeding? As usual, there are challenges; research has been done.
