I have lived in Brazil for over 15 years now and despite an endemic culture of corruption and violence the beautiful Mata Atlantica still survives. Will Rio be able to show to the world that it is a civilized city with a civilized populace I have my doubts. Its always lots of song and dance and zero results. Too many Cariocas can only live for the moment and turn away from a future they fear. They live in a society that is hopelessly divided between the African mindset and European rational ---a very sad situation with no real positive outcome. Give it back to the Indians--the real Brazilians!!!
