Cool Green Morning: Friday, March 27

Spring has finally arrived here in Arlington, Virginia…and a middle-aged blogger’s thoughts are turning toward golf. Eco-crime! you scream. Yes, it seems truly green golf has a difficult course ahead of it (although I might sneak out this weekend anyway)…check out that and the other green links you must click on this morning:

    • Go for the Green: Triple Pundit’s Ariel Schwartz checks out a Panama golf course that claims to be eco-friendly…and comes back with a lot of questions. (No report on how she shot.)
    • Would You Like Butter on That? A New Zealand company has figured out how to microwave biomass into charcoal (known as biochar) without generating carbon. Does that mean anything for climate change? The Vine summarizes the debate.
    • Is Earth Hour Impractical? Many people are turning their lights off for an hour this Saturday night for “Earth Hour”…but a lot of office buildings (including the White House) can’t do it for fear of safety, security and legal issues, reports Short Sharp Science.
